Day 1

Start with a pleasant walk in Antigua’s Central Park (Parque Central). Take in the colonial architecture surrounding the square, with the iconic La Merced Church and Palacio de los Capitanes Generales. The park is the perfect spot to appreciate Antigua's vibrant atmosphere and historical significance.

Explore the Antigua Guatemala Cathedral ruins, one of the most iconic landmarks that suffered damage in past earthquakes but still stands as a symbol of resilience.

Visit the Hotel Museo Casa Santo Domingo, a former convent now transformed into a hotel and museum. Explore the Mayan and colonial art collection, stunning gardens, and the impressive ruins of the 16th-century structure.

Wander through Antigua’s local markets, such as the Mercado Central, where you can find fresh produce, handmade textiles, and artisan crafts.

Enjoy a quiet evening stroll around the cobbled streets of Antigua to admire the beautifully illuminated Arco de Santa Catalina at night.

Day 2

Take a guided hike up to Volcano Pacaya. This active volcano offers an exhilarating trek with views of flowing lava (if conditions allow) and panoramic vistas of the surrounding landscape. The hike is moderate, and the experience of being close to an active volcano is truly unique.

Day 3

Take a guided tour to a local coffee farm and learn about the sustainable process of growing and harvesting high-quality Guatemalan coffee.

Day 4

Head to Museo de Arte Colonial, where you can learn about the region’s artistic evolution and view collections of religious art, sculptures, and paintings from colonial times.

Visit Cerro de la Cruz, a hilltop viewpoint offering panoramic views of Antigua and its surrounding volcanoes. It’s a short hike or drive and provides a fantastic opportunity to take in the beauty of the region.

Day 5

Take a day trip to Lake Atitlan and discover some Mayan heritage
